Tree and Shrub Treatment Programs and Applications

FULL PROGRAM

Early Deep Root Fertilization - This application begins in late January and can continue until April. It consists of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. It is designed to give the tree nutrients it will need for the spring flush of growth. At this time, we also spray a Spring Dormant Oil for scale insects for those customers who have Euonymus shrubs.

Early Spring Insect Control - We start doing this application when the leaves start returning to the trees (usually in April) and continue until early June. It consists of insect and disease control materials and is designed to reduce the early spring insect populations such as aphids and tent caterpillars. It will also reduce the fungal disease injury many plants sustain on their new foliage.

Early Summer Insect Control - We begin this in mid-June and continue until early August. The application consists of insect and disease control materials, usually different from those in the Early Spring Insect Control. This application is designed to reduce the early summer insect populations such as bagworms and lace bugs. It will also reduce the mid-summer disease problems.

Late Summer Insect Control - We usually begin this application in mid August and continue until Late September. It consists of insect and disease control materials and is designed to reduce the late summer insect populations such as fall webworms and mites. It will also reduce the late summer disease problems. This application contains different materials than the Early Spring and Early Summer Insect Control to help prevent the insects and diseases from becoming resistant to just one material.

Late Deep Root Fertilization - We normally begin this application in October and continue until early December. It consists of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. The plants aren't usually growing, and in fact most will be losing their leaves in preparation for winter dormancy. However, the root systems are still active. The roots will absorb the nutrients and instead of using them to grow taller they will use them to increase carbohydrate reserves and root mass. This makes for a healthier plant. We are in fact replacing those very nutrients you just raked up in the form of leaves. At this time, we also spray the Fall Dormant Oil for scale insects for those customers who have Euonymus shrubs.

The Critter Getters Pest Control and Lawn Care Guarantee - In order to keep your costs down, we do not employ horticulturists. We simply apply the materials that a homeowner should normally apply himself to protect his investment in his landscape. Our applications are not guaranteed against plant loss.

If an insect or disease problem develops between regularly scheduled applications, we'll come back out to correct the problem at no charge. This applies to Full Program customers only.
